Harrah’s Oklahoma to Open in April as Caesars’ First Tribal Casino in the State

Caesars Entertainment is entering the Oklahoma market with its first tribal partnership, set to launch Harrah’s Oklahoma on April 9th. The new casino, developed alongside the Iowa Tribe of Oklahoma, is located in Chandler, roughly 50 miles east of Oklahoma City along historic Route 66.

A Las Vegas-Style Experience in Oklahoma

Harrah’s Oklahoma aims to deliver a high-end gaming and entertainment destination. Guests can expect:

  • 12 table games including blackjack, roulette, and poker

  • Over 1,000 slot machines

  • A planned hotel and expanded entertainment options as the property grows

The casino emphasizes a full Las Vegas-style experience while maintaining strong local ties.

Partnership with the Iowa Tribe

Oklahoma’s casino industry is heavily driven by tribal operations, and Caesars’ entry is no exception. The collaboration with the Iowa Tribe of Oklahoma is designed to promote economic development and community reinvestment.

Jake Keyes, Chairman of the Iowa Tribe, stated:

“This partnership represents an exciting new chapter for the Iowa Tribe. Harrah’s Oklahoma will create employment and economic growth opportunities, support local businesses, and strengthen our ability to reinvest in education, infrastructure, and essential services for our people.”

Caesars Joins a Crowded Oklahoma Casino Market

Oklahoma is home to over 143 casinos across 33 tribes, making it the second-largest casino market in the U.S. after Nevada. Many major resorts are located near the Texas border, drawing visitors from neighboring states.

Notable examples include:

  • Choctaw Casino & Resort in Durant, hosting several WSOP Circuit stops annually

  • WinStar World Casino in Thackerville, run by the Chickasaw Nation

The state’s casinos have become one of Oklahoma’s largest industries, second only to oil and gas. Harrah’s Oklahoma is poised to join this thriving sector, offering a new destination for gaming, entertainment, and local economic growth.
